The current living room has a nice open floor plan in contemporary modern style with natural color but the atmosphere is too cold and plain. The client (Emily) has inspired by Scandinavian Boho style and wanted to change the room completely. I tried to furnish the space with nature-inspired materials, layered texture, and sculptural furniture. The main color scheme is Indian pink, white and gray based on the client’s mood board.
The Velvet sofa in pink is placed which is totally hip and trendy. Natural materials such as a solid teak wood side table, fur, and a wool rug make space feels soft and cozy. The rose flower cushion and the knitted pillow provide the modern pop finishing touch. Adding sculptural items such as a round glass coffee table with a golden base and the exotic fig tree placed bring uniqueness. The shelves have styled with fewer daily objects that work well with books beautifully. The units of black metal wall frames combining wooden shelves create exciting contrasts.
Especially, the white Chaise Lounge boasts versatility and fits well together. The oversized seat invites family members to recline, relax and rejuvenate on a lazy afternoon and night. This sweet Scandi style will evoke an elegant allure that is both welcoming and inviting.
